Dana Haynes

Dana Haynes is education editor and state government editor for the Statesman
Journal in Salem. He has worked at the newspaper for six years in the capacity
of reporter, editor, copy editor, on-line editor and columnist.

The Statesman Journal may be the only newspaper in the United States to feature
a daily education page, which Haynes crafted with a team of three reporters in
October 2003.

Haynes comes from Idaho and Washington and attended Lewis & Clark College. He spent his career working for weekly and daily newspapers in the Willamette
Valley. He lives in Salem with his cat, Gilda.

He also is the author of three mystery novels.
