Jessica E. Mindlin

Jessica Mindlin is the Senior Staff Attorney for the National Crime Victim Law Institute and the Center for Law and Public Policy on Sexual Violence, at Lewis and Clark Law School. Ms. Mindlin directs a legal technical assistance project serving staff attorneys at sexual violence and dual coalitions across the country, teaches in a crime victim rights appellate litigation clinic at Lewis and Clark Law School, and is a frequent trainer on sexual violence, crime victim rights, and privacy and confidentiality issues.
 
Ms. Mindlin is a former family law Support Unit Attorney for the Oregon’s legal aid programs, and former Director of the Oregon Supreme Court-Oregon State Bar Task Force on Gender Fairness. She directed the Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence’s Legal Access Project. Prior to law school, Ms. Mindlin worked as a rape victim advocate, a battered women counselor, a counselor for runaway youth, and a waitress. She is the author of “Child Sexual Abuse and Criminal Statutes of Limitation: A Model for Reform,” 65 Wash.L.Rev. 189 (1990) and “Courtwatch: Judges Respond to Domestic Violence,” (OCADSV 1996), and co-authored, with the Hon. Maureen McKnight, Oregon Family Law Legal Services Commission Report to the Oregon Legislative Assembly (1999).
